Consumer Rights & Complaints (Texas)
Clients receiving counseling services in the State of Texas have the right to take the following actions if they have questions or concerns regarding services provided:

Request copies of their health care records
directly from the licensee, in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.

Contact the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC)
for additional information regarding licensure, regulations, or to address concerns related to licensed mental health professionals.Visit the Council’s Contact Us page for current contact information.

File a consumer complaint with the Office of the Attorney General of Texas – Consumer Protection Division
if they believe their consumer rights have been violated.Complaints may be submitted through the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection webpage.
